Do you have damaged glasses stored in a drawer? Renew them!

Have you accidentally knocked your glasses against a hard surface and broken them? Do you have damaged eyeglasses stored in a drawer somewhere in your house? If the answer to both questions is yes, then it’s time to do something about it. Here are four easy steps to follow to get your eyewear back into shape. We know that the ray ban lenses are very popular in the market, so there are a lot of opportunities presented to us by such eyewear and this led me astray.

How to renew damaged eyeglasses?

Preparation tools

Some of these tools are essential and needed, but others might be considered optional. Eyeglass repair kits vary depending on the method that you choose to use. There is a wide variety in the price range, so it’s possible for one kit to cost several hundred dollars while another may come with just three basic tools designed for simple minor repairs such as broken eyewear wire or lenses without a case. Either way finding quality toolsets or equipment will ensure that you end up with lasting results and good customer service.

Eyeglass Repair Process:

  1. Replace the damaged eyeglass lens with a new one. There are many ways to do this, but most require some type of specialized tool that is similar in design and function to eyeglasses cleaning stick or pad: paper tissue, cotton cloths, gauze pads, etc. The Oakley Holbrook lenses are great for hunting and any other outdoor activity, but not just in the summer. Once you’ve found any necessary tools feel free to go shopping for your supplies next time you’re at your local retail store if it’s not already in your household.
  2. Clean the broken or scratched lens with rubbing alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, acetone or another non-acidic liquid designed for removing smudges and dirt from eyeglasses lenses: soap flakes/ drops also work in a pinch if you have them handy. Make sure they’re cleaned thoroughly before moving on to part 3 so that no residue remains even after wiping off any lint removal agent used to clean the lenses.
  3. Read a good eyeglass repair kit manual that tells you how to use its set of available tools: they will also specify optimal wrapping and padding/ cushioning material options since lint is abrasive enough alone to damage lens coatings leading up to breaking if not applied carefully enough (like sandpaper). If your glasses require any other type of intense magnification, it’s important that these steps are followed with an inspection each step of the way. Additionally, following all recommended tools (screwdrivers and wrenches) with softening lubricants or dried out oils should be used on your eyeglasses if they’re metal frame glasses as often as suggested by manufacturers such as “eye finder” repair kits; but avoid using silicones or other types of greases that may contain harmful carcinogens since these are not ideal for removing debris and mineral deposits over three years old in use.
  4. If you’d prefer to avoid the expense of buying another pair of eyeglasses, it may be advisable for you to try contact lens cleaning at home: simply look around your house or local office supply store and locate an eyedropper bottle filled with a liquid suitable for removing debris, germs, etc. from select brands/types of soft contacts lenses like those sold by Walgreens; even Google “hygiene contact lens cleaning” on the internet for suggestions from other self-professed contact lens users/casual observers of consumer hygiene in use at home. Just ensure that a small one or two drops are used by anyons you have access to since it’s important that these are not accidentally leaked onto your eyeglasses; wipe off glints using cellular lint remover.

If you have a pair of glasses that are damaged and you don’t want to throw them away, you can keep them in a drawer for the time being. This will prevent the damage from worsening and allow you to sell or donate them later if necessary. However, since they’re not your everyday glasses, it’s best to keep them in a safe place where they won’t get scratched or broken by other items.
