Finding A Bond Agent

If you know someone who is in jail, a bail bondsman might be of assistance if you don’t have all of the money to post the bail amount. A bond is an amount of money that you will give to the agent to secure the release of the person from jail. Most agents will accept cash, credit and debit cards, and property titles if you don’t have the money on hand. Keep in mind that if the person does not go to court, then the bond is forfeited. A warrant will be issued for the person’s arrest, and once located, the person will go to jail.

When you’re locating Bucks County bail bonds agents, one of the first places to look is at the jail. Many agents post business cards and other information at the jail to make it easier for people to contact someone who can help to get a family member or friend released. You need to know how much the bail is and how much the agent charges. Most charge about 10 percent of the bail amount while others charge 15-20% of the amount. The type of crime committed, whether the person has ties to the community, and the criminal history of the person being released are all factors taken into consideration before a bond amount is decided or whether the agent will help at all.

You can look online for a reputable bondsman. Read the reviews that are given to find one who is honest and who will stand by the release. You can also ask an attorney for the names of bond agents. Any agent you use should have the proper credentials that the state requires and the proper licenses to be an agent. Find out about any conditions that go along with posting the bond amount and exactly who is responsible if there is a forfeit of the bond.
